Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc is praised for its vibrant citrus and floral aromas, with flavors of green apple, melon, and grass. It's often described as well-balanced with lively acidity and a polished finish. While some find it elite and refreshing, others feel it lacks complexity compared to New Zealand counterparts. Its versatility makes it a good pairing for seafood and light dishes.
The Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful expression of this popular white grape variety. It displays a pale straw color with greenish hues, indicating its youthful nature. On the nose, vibrant aromas of citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit take center stage, accompanied by subtle hints of tropical fruits and fresh herbs. On the palate, this wine showcases a crisp and refreshing acidity, which is characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc. The citrus flavors continue to dominate, with zesty lemon and tangy grapefruit leading the way. There is also a pleasant herbaceous quality, reminiscent of freshly cut grass or green bell peppers. These flavors are well-balanced and harmonious, creating a lively and invigorating drinking experience. The Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a dry wine with a medium body, making it versatile and suitable for various occasions. Its vibrant acidity and refreshing character make it an excellent choice as an aperitif or to accompany light seafood dishes, salads, or goat cheese. The wine finishes with a clean and lingering aftertaste, leaving a pleasant citrusy sensation on the palate.
