This intriguing orange wine from Crete showcases a captivating amber hue, hinting at its skin-contact origins. The bouquet unfolds with layers of dried apricot, quince, and a whisper of chamomile, underscored by a subtle saline minerality. On the palate, it presents a medium-bodied structure, with a harmonious interplay of vibrant acidity and a gentle tannic grip, characteristic of its extended maceration. The finish is persistent, revealing nuances of orange zest and a delicate almond bitterness. A commendable expression of Vidiano, this wine stands out as a benchmark for those exploring the depth of Greek orange wines.

Alexakis Vidiano Orange is crafted from the Vidiano grape, a native variety of Crete, Greece. The grapes are harvested from vineyards benefiting from the island's Mediterranean climate, which provides ample sunshine and cooling sea breezes. This wine is made in an orange style, where the juice remains in contact with the skins for an extended period, imparting a distinctive amber hue and enhancing its texture. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine's fresh fruit character while developing a subtle tannic structure. The result is a complex yet approachable wine with balanced acidity and a rich, layered profile.
