Weingut Lagler

Weingut Lagler is a family winery in Spitz an der Donau in the Wachau. The Lagler family has grown grapes for wine since 1789. In the late 1970s, Karl senior and Elisabeth Lagler began the transition from grape growing to a family winery selling its own wines. Opening a Buschenschank wine tavern helped lay the foundations for this change. Karl and Nicole Lagler are the people behind the estate.

The family cultivates around 14 hectares in terraced sites including Steinporz, Tausendeimerberg and Burgberg. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are the focus, alongside Neuburger, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Karl Lagler works sustainably, using selective hand harvesting and reduced yields.
