Venetsanos was built in 1947 by the Venetsanos family, becoming the first industrial winery on the island. Wine was originally produced for Santorini and was later exported extensively, particularly to countries such as Russia.

The winery is located right above the port of Athinios, overlooking the caldera of Santorini. Venetsanos manages 15 hectares of vineyards planted mostly with Assyrtiko, alongside Athiri, Aidani, Platani, Mavrotragano, and Mandilaria. The vines are not grafted on American rootstock because phylloxera has never attacked the island. Cultivation includes traditional basket pruning and using sulfur dust to protect against serious grape diseases. For winemaking, its structural design used gravity, facilitating energy efficiency when access to electricity and other energy sources was limited. Its wines include Vinsanto Vintage, a naturally sweet desert wine made from grapes left to dry naturally in the sun.
On VinoVoss, Venetsanos has 1 wine in stock: 1 white. Their average rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 26 ratings.
