Umberto Cesari is a winery in Castel San Pietro Terme, Emilia-Romagna, founded by Umberto Cesari in 1964 with an initial 20 hectares in the hills. In the 1980s, its founder’s reputation as an ambassador of Sangiovese began to develop.

The estate comprises 12 farms and two production sites, with grape varieties including Sangiovese, Merlot and Chardonnay. A third of its vineyards are cultivated organically, while green manure and cover crops nourish the vines. At harvest, grapes reach the cellar within an hour of picking. Its wines include Laurento and MOMA Rosso, aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, and Liano Bianco and Colle del Re Passito, for which fine-grained, medium-toasted Allier oak barriques and tonneaux are used.
