San Biagio Vecchio is a small winery on the San Biagio Vecchio hill near Faenza, run by Andrea and Lucia. Before Pietro Pianori’s Centesimino vineyard at Podere Terbato was cut down in 1980, Don Antonio Baldassari recovered cuttings to propagate in his vineyards at San Biagio Vecchio. Andrea later took over the farm from Don Antonio, San Biagio’s parish priest and a winegrower.

The farm’s six hectares overlook the medieval Tower of Oriolo dei Fichi, and its soils are yellow sand and clay. It grows native Albana, Sangiovese and Centesimino without herbicides or systemic treatments, while fermentation is spontaneous and little sulfur dioxide is used. Its wines include CacciaBruco (Malvasia, Trebbiano Romagnolo and Bianco Autoctono Romagnolo), PorcaLoca! (Sangiovese), SabbiaGialla (Bianco Autoctono Romagnolo) and MonteTarbato (Centesimino).
On VinoVoss, San Biagio Vecchio has 4 wines in stock: 3 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 23 ratings.
