Founded in 1999 by the Duncan family of Silver Oak, Twomey began as a new family venture to expand beyond Cabernet Sauvignon and vinify other grape varieties. Brothers David, Tim, Kevin, and Mike founded Twomey Cellars as a Duncan family venture in 1999. Proprietors David and Tim oversee day-to-day operations at the winery, and Justin Hirigoyen is the Vice President of Winemaking.

The winery's appellations are Anderson Valley, Russian River Valley, and Napa Valley. Each wine expresses a specific vineyard or growing region, with grapes sourced from eight family-owned vineyards as well as long-standing partner growers. Sites include Monument Tree Vineyard, located in the deep end of Anderson Valley and named for an imposing, lightning-struck redwood. Winemaking methods include whole cluster fermentations and a French oak barrel program. Its wines include Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé.
On VinoVoss, Twomey has 2 wines in stock: 1 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 139 ratings.
