Tramin was founded in 1898 by Christian Schrott, parish priest of Termeno and deputy in the Austrian Parliament. In 1971, it merged with Cantina Sociale di Egna. Winemaker Willi Stürz arrived in the 1990s. A renovation of the headquarters, designed by architect Werner Tscholl, was completed in 2010.

Located in Termeno, the winery includes approximately 270 hectares worked by member families. Vineyard holdings include land in Mazzon and Glen for Pinot Nero. It produces an average of 1.9 million bottles per year, with 70% destined for the national market and 30% for foreign markets. Its wines include Epokale, Troy, Nussbaumer, Terminum, Unterebner, Stoan, Maglen, Urban, and Loam. Terminum is a botrytized late-harvest sweet wine.
