Tenuta di Castellaro is a wine estate in Quattropani on Lipari that began with a morning walk on the Piana di Castellaro in summer 2005. The Lentsch family’s love of the island inspired the project, and its winemaker is Emiliano Falsini.

At 350 metres above sea level, its Caolino, Gelso, Maggiore, Ritrovo, Lisca and Panoramica vineyards grow on mineral-rich volcanic sand. The estate’s 22 hectares of vineyards follow organic farming protocols and use exclusively traditional bush training, or alberello. Malvasia delle Lipari and Corinto Nero are central to its viticulture, with 7,000 square metres of these grapes cultivated on lava-stone terraces. Its wines include Bianco Pomice Terre Siciliane Bianco IGT, Nero Ossidiana Terre Siciliane Rosso IGT and Malvasia delle Lipari DOC passito.
