Sandhi

Sandhi is a small-production winery sourcing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, with Sashi Moorman as co-founder and managing partner. It bottled Sanford & Benedict Chardonnay in 2009. DJ Bilsky is its winemaker.

Most cuvées come from purchased grapes, while Romance is the only parcel of estate Sandhi Chardonnay, planted and tended by Chris King of Cosecha Farming. In the winery, Sandhi relies on native yeast and makes no additions or subtractions. Chardonnay is fermented and aged in large oak barrels, whereas Pinot Noir undergoes concrete tank fermentation followed by shorter barrel aging. Its wines include a cuvée from Patterson Vineyard, west of Buellton, made from Pinot Noir grafted to Chardonnay.
