Davis purchased the Porter Creek estate. In 1982, an old barn on the estate was bonded for wine production, and a 1930s structure was converted to a tasting room in 1985. George Davis later stepped back from winemaking while retaining vineyard management, while Alex Davis, who learned grape growing alongside his father, serves as owner, winemaker, vineyard manager, and business manager.

In the Russian River Valley, the estate includes a parcel planted in 1973 that is among the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards in the valley. The estate vineyards were Certified Organic by 2003 and use Biodynamic farming. Fermentation uses native yeast and malolactic cultures, with red wines punched down by hand. Wines are made in French oak barrels crafted from sustainably harvested wood, with new oak limited to approximately 30%. Bottling is done onsite with natural cork, and labels printed on an antique letter press are glued and applied by hand.
On VinoVoss, Porter Creek has 2 wines in stock: 1 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 30 ratings.
