Peter Michael

Sir Peter Michael discovered Knights Valley Ranch in 1982, and the Peter Michael winery was established in 1987. Peter Michael was knighted Sir Peter Michael in 1989.

That same year, the first 16 acres of Les Pavots vineyard were planted. The total estate covers 1,200 acres with 200 acres planted in vineyards. Vineyards include Knights Valley Ranch in Knights Valley AVA, Sonoma County, Seaview Estate in Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, Sonoma Coast, and Oakville Estate in Oakville AVA, Napa Valley. Farming utilizes 85% solar energy, water recapture, cover crops, erosion control, owl boxes, and native plant restoration, and certifications include Fish Friendly Farming, Sonoma Sustainable, and California Sustainable Winery & Vineyards. Its wines include Les Pavots Cabernet blend, produced since 1988, and L'Esprit des Pavots, produced since 1999.
