Mill Creek Vineyards was founded by the Kreck family in 1964. Across four generations, the family converted prune orchards into vineyards and purchased their estate property in 1969, commencing wine production in 1974. In 1976, an existing farm building on Westside Road was converted into the winery. Brothers Bob and Bill Kreck began construction of the tasting room in 1982. Bill and Yvonne’s son, Jeremy Kreck, took the helm of winemaking in 2004 and oversees vineyard operations.

The estate ranch in Dry Creek Valley covers approximately 65 acres with eight varietals. In the early 1990s, approximately seven acres of vineyards were planted on Bill and Yvonne Kreck's Alexander Valley ranch. In 2017, Mill Creek became a CSWA Certified Sustainable Winery under the California Sustainable Winegrowing program. The winery crafts Bordeaux-focused wines from estate vineyards in Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley; its wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot, which it began producing as a varietal in 1977.
