La Marca di San Michele was founded in 2007 by Alessandro Bonci, Beatrice Bonci, and Daniela Quaresima, who are also its owners. The vineyards were previously held by Pietro and Giuseppe Bonci starting in the 1980s, and before that by Fernando and Mario Bonci from the 1950s.

Located in Contrada San Michele, Cupramontana, the estate encompasses 6 hectares of vineyards, 2 hectares of arable land, and 2 hectares of olive groves. Vineyards are situated at 400 meters above sea level on limestone soils with a predominance of clay, marl, and gypsum. Grapes grown include Verdicchio across 5 hectares and Montepulciano across 1 hectare. Farming uses Guyot training, manual pruning and tying, green manure of legumes, and biodynamic horn manure and horn silica preparations, with harvesting done entirely by hand into small crates. Winemaking features spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and long aging on fine lees. Its wines include a production of 15,000 bottles of Capovolto (Doc), 7,000 bottles of Passolento (Docg), 7,000 bottles of Bastiancontrario (Igp), and 2,500 bottles of Metodo Classico.
