Angove is a family owned and operated winery and distillery with organic vineyards in McLaren Vale, established in 1886 by Dr. William Thomas Angove, a doctor from Cornwall in England. In 1910, his oldest son, Thomas Carlyon Angove, travelled to Renmark in South Australia’s Riverland with the intention of setting up a distillery and grape processing house. In 2017, Richard and his sister Victoria were appointed joint Managing Directors, while John stepped down as Managing Director and remained Chairman.

Dr. Angove’s original vineyard was planted predominantly to Shiraz and Riesling, and his first wines were made in the Brightlands cellar in Tea Tree Gully. The family’s Warboys Vineyard is organic and biodynamic, while Angove Organic wine is produced in line with Australian Certified Organic standards. Angove’s wines include Brightlands Shiraz and The Medhyk Shiraz.
