Hamilton Russell Vineyards' founder, Tim Hamilton Russell, purchased the undeveloped 170-hectare property in 1975. His son, Anthony Hamilton Russell, took over in 1991 and bought the business in 1994, registering Hamilton Russell Vineyards as an Estate. The estate's team includes winemaker Emul Ross and viticulturist Johan Montgomery.

Located behind the old fishing village of Hermanus, the estate pioneered viticulture and winemaking in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation. Plantings are limited to 52 hectares of stony, clay-rich, shale-derived soil identified through research initiated in 1994. Committing to work only with grapes from its terroir, its wines include Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
On VinoVoss, Hamilton Russell Vineyards has 2 wines in stock: 1 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 769 ratings.
