Beaumont Wines was founded in 1974 when Jayne and Raoul Beaumont purchased Compagnes Drift farm, which had been established by the Dutch East India Company in the 1700s as a supply farm producing fruit, vegetables, dairy, wine, and flour. Jayne made the property's first wine, producing small amounts of Pinotage in the late 1970s. Sebastian and his wife Nici took over running the farm in 2015, and Jennifer Pearson joined them in 2020.

Beaumont is situated in Bot River in the Overberg, nestled in the foothills of the Houw Hoek Mountains, and the estate specializes in Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Mourvèdre. Winemaking uses minimal sulphur, no GMO products, no animal products, and only indigenous yeast strains. Farming includes environmentally friendly pest and fungal control, reducing the use of herbicides, committing 250 hectares of land to the Green Mountain Conservancy, and operating the entire farm on an integrated solar system. Furthermore, Beaumont is certified by Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) for sustainable wine production and waste management, and fruit production methods undergo an annual audit to comply with GLOBAL GAP regulations.
