Domaine Carneros was established in 1987 by Claude Taittinger and the family behind Champagne Taittinger, when Claude Taittinger selected a 138-acre parcel in the heart of Carneros, Napa Valley. In 1987, the Taittinger family selected Eileen Crane as the founding winemaker of Domaine Carneros. The winery added Pinot Noir to its portfolio in 1992. After more than a decade working on the winemaking team under Eileen Crane, Zak stepped into the role of sparkling winemaker in 2020.

All wines from Domaine Carneros hail from the Carneros appellation, and 100 percent of the fruit comes from its six estate vineyards comprising 400 acres. Domaine Carneros is a small grower-producer of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and estate Pinot Noir. Its wines include Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs, Brut cuvée, and Pinot Noir.
