In 1979, Cuvaison was purchased by the Schmidheiny family of Switzerland, who are fourth-generation vintners. Vice President of Winemaking Steve Rogstad has overseen the winemaking at Cuvaison since 2002.

The winery includes 400 acres in the Los Carneros region of Napa Valley, where Tai Vineyard is situated. In 1991, a program of replanting began along with a block-by-block approach to farming. The estate features more than 20 blocks of Chardonnay and 20 of Pinot Noir, along with small parcels of Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Merlot. Winemaking utilizes a small-lot approach in a smart-shed winery.
On VinoVoss, Cuvaison has 2 wines in stock: 1 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 104 ratings.
