Cielo e Terra

Cielo e Terra is a Veneto wine producer originating with Giovanni Cielo’s small winery, established in 1908 opposite the Castles of Romeo and Juliet. The Cielo winery in Montorso Vicentino followed in 1962, founded by Piero Cielo and his sons Giovanni, Renzo and Piergiorgio. The family business, Cielo Spa, formed a joint venture with Cantine dei Colli Berici in 1999 to create a more sustainable and equitable value chain. Villa La Favorita, a Palladian-style Venetian villa, was acquired in 2021. Luca and Pierpaolo lead the company.

The joint-venture partner represents more than 1,000 winegrower-stakeholders and 3,700 hectares of vineyards. The area’s wine history includes Garganega and Tai wines and the earliest recorded evidence of Prosecco production. The company introduced Lean Organization to streamline production. The villa stands on a vineyard-covered hill facing the Colli Berici and is intended as the main headquarters and hospitality centre.
