In 1650, Château Siran was mentioned in the estate inventory of Marie Poncastel, wife of Jean Lussignet, who is believed to have established the estate. In 1915, Fréderic Miailhe bought back his aunts' shares to become the sole owner of Siran. William-Alain Miailhe took over Siran in 1978 following a family division of properties, and in 1989, his wife Brigitte Miailhe assumed management. Hubert de Boüard has been consulting oenologist since 2013, and Marjolaine Defrance serves as cellar master and trained oenologist.

Located in the Margaux appellation, Siran's vineyard occupies 25 hectares in a single block on a ridge of fine siliceous gravel. Farming follows sustainable agriculture, with experimental organic farming on several plots since 2018, and holds Haute Valeur Environnementale certification. In 2018, six new tanks were added to the property's temperature-controlled stainless steel vat room, and the malolactic cellar was entirely rebuilt in 2019.
