In 1835, the estate split into Château Lynch-Moussas and Château Lynch-Bages, with Château Lynch-Moussas becoming a 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Jean Castéja acquired the estate for the Castéja family in 1919. In the 2000s, Philippe Castéja assumed leadership, bringing in Denis Dubourdieu and his team. Cellar master Hugues Mathieu joined in March 2023 to oversee winemaking, while Valérie Lavigne and Axel Marchal serve as consulting oenologists for wine blending. Located in the Pauillac and Haut-Médoc appellations, the 62-hectare vineyard is planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot on Günz gravel ridges of pebbles and gravel cemented by clayey sands. Autumn harvesting is conducted entirely by hand. Its wines include Château Lynch-Moussas and Les Hauts de Lynch-Moussas, created in 2001 by Émile and Philippe Castéja under the Haut-Médoc appellation.
