Château La Tour Blanche

Château La Tour Blanche is a winery in Sauternes, classified in 1855 as a Premier Grand Cru Classé. At the winery, Miguel Aguirre is the head manager, and Philippe Pelicano is the cellar master.

The estate has 46 hectares of vines and has been certified HVE and EMS since 2011. It has also launched the organic farming certification process, working the soils, using only copper and sulphur, and banning pesticides and herbicides. Green manure crops—including mustard, red clover, oats, barley, radish and broad beans—are sown in autumn after harvest and cut in spring. An itinerant shepherd also brings a herd into the vineyards in March to mow them naturally.
