Balverne is a wine brand that belongs to Notre Vue Estate. Grapes have been grown on the property since 1869 and commercially for wine production since 1907. Bob and Renee Stein acquired the property in 1992. In the 1980s, Balverne wines were poured at the White House as well as at Spago, the Brown Derby, and Sparks Steakhouse. The owners of Notre Vue Estate resurrected the brand in 2012. The winemaker is Molly Lippitt.

The estate encompasses 710 total acres, containing 250 acres of vineyards and 350 acres of Forever Wild protected open space. The estate vineyards straddle the Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill AVAs. Sixteen grape varieties are grown across the property, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the valley floor and later-ripening Bordeaux varieties grown towards Chalk Hill. The wines are made in the European style, focusing on finesse and purity with low intervention and clean winemaking styles.
