This Grüner Veltliner is praised for its vibrant citrus and green apple notes, balanced with distinctive minerality and white pepper accents. While most appreciate its refreshing acidity and food versatility, some find the acidity slightly overpowering. Reviews highlight a well-structured profile with recurring pear undertones and a crisp, clean finish.
The Weingut R&A Pfaffl Grüner Veltliner vom Haus immediately greets the senses with a burst of fresh green apple and zesty lime aromas, underpinned by a subtle white pepper spice that's characteristic of the varietal. The palate is crisply dry, showcasing a racy acidity that brings energy to the flavors of ripe pear, lemon zest, and a unique vegetal note reminiscent of white asparagus. The wine's texture is smooth with a light body that makes it eminently quaffable, and it finishes with a clean, mineral-driven aftertaste that beckons for another sip. It's a quintessential summer sipper that pairs splendidly with fresh salads, seafood, or as a delightful aperitif.
