WINE DESCRIPTION
Vigneau-Chevreau Abbaye de Marmoutier Clos de Rougemont hails from the Vouvray appellation, located in France's Loire Valley. The Chenin Blanc grapes for this wine are grown in the renowned Clos de Rougemont vineyard. The grapes are hand harvested, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel vats. The fermentation is stopped prematurely, leaving a touch of residual sugar in the wine. It is transferred to old barrels and aged for about 6 months, seeking not to impart wood character but add nuance and textural complexity.
