Strong red wine with a rich, full-bodied texture, highlighted by a complex blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, grown in the esteemed Châteauneuf-du-Pape region of Southern Rhône, France. Aged on the lees in large French oak barrels for a prolonged period, resulting in a dense, meaty wine with intense, dried red fruit flavors, soft notes of heather and lavender, and a dark, mineral-driven finish.

What the web is saying

Vidal Fleury Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is praised for its complex blend of cherry, plum, and earthy notes, with hints of pepper and leather. While some find it bold and full-bodied, others describe certain vintages as lacking body and complexity. The wine often features a smooth finish with balanced tannins, and is noted for its aging potential. However, some reviews mention a high price point as a drawback.

Voss Experts4.6

The Vidal Fleury Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge exudes a rich garnet color and an enticing aroma of ripe cherries, black raspberries, and a symphony of Provençal herbs. The taste reveals layers of red and black fruits, seasoned with spices, earthiness, and a subtle leather quality that speaks to its aging prowess. The texture is plush, with velvety tannins that glide towards a finish lined with a hint of oak and licorice. Its balance between fruit intensity and structural finesse makes it a standout choice, ready to be savored now or cellared for a more complex future.
