Bold and sophisticated wine with a deep, licorice/anise nose, balanced by earthy and herbal undertones. The lasting impression is long and satisfying, with traces of fruit on the palate. Overall, a well-balanced and delightful wine that is sure to please. The label's Saint Michael motif adds a touch of whimsy to the overall experience.

What the web is saying

Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino is praised for its rich, full-bodied character, with notes of dark fruit, leather, and earthy undertones. While many appreciate its complexity and aging potential, some find the oak presence overpowering. The wine's balance of tannins and acidity is often highlighted, offering a smooth yet robust finish. Its versatility makes it a favorite for pairing with various dishes, though opinions on its price vary.

Voss Experts4.8

This Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino is a captivating wine with a deep, ruby-red color. Its aromas offer hints of earth, leather, and forest floor, while its flavors are complex and concentrated, with notes of dark cherries, licorice, and baking spices. The tannins are firm and structured, and the finish is long and persistent. This is a classic example of a Brunello di Montalcino that is sure to please.
