What the web is saying

Val di Suga Brunello di Montalcino is praised for its rich, full-bodied texture and complex flavors, including cherry, leather, and oak. While many appreciate its smooth tannins and long finish, some find it lacks the depth expected from a Brunello. The wine is noted for its aging potential, with some vintages showing more promise than others. Overall, it offers a satisfying experience for those seeking a robust Italian red.

Voss Experts4.3

Val di Suga's Brunello di Montalcino is a powerful, full-bodied red wine with aromas of fresh cherries, raspberries and dried herbs. On the palate, there is an intense presence of ripe red fruit, spice, and a hint of licorice that is balanced by smooth tannins and a long finish. The complexity and depth of flavor make this one of the most sought-after wines of the region.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
