Tesselaarsdal Pinot Noir 2022

Lively and bright wine with a creamy texture, revealing a consistent cohesion of zest and tannins. The bold tannins add backbone and depth, but the medium zest provides a sense of refreshment. As the wine ages, the tannins become less apparent, resulting in a smoother and more casual finish.

Soft and approachable Pinot Noir with a rich, fruity profile, but with some notable omissions in terms of density and nuance. The wine is well-balanced, with a good mix of red fruit and spice, but it falls short in terms of depth and earthy undertones. Despite this, the Pinot Noir is a solid premium for those searching for a easy-drinking option, but it may not be the best cost effectiveness for the price.

Significant transformation has taken place in this wine, elevating it to a more substantial contender in the SA Pinot space. The colour is a deep, decadent brick red, even as the nose reveals a rich interplay of earthy forest floor and cherry notes. The texture is well-balanced, with a light tanginess that adds depth. A promising start to a promising case.
