Tarrica Merlot

Tarrica Merlot is appreciated for its fruit-forward profile, with a jammy texture and inviting sweetness. While some find it not particularly standout, others praise its full-bodied nature and earthy nose with plum and cherry hints. It is considered a good bargain for its price, making it a reliable choice for everyday drinking.

Displaying a deep garnet hue, the Tarrica Merlot opens with a bouquet of ripe black cherry, plum, and subtle hints of forest floor leaf, underscored by a whisper of cedar and vanilla from judicious oak aging. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine reveals a harmonious interplay of velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, providing structure and balance. Flavors of dark berry compote and mocha are complemented by a touch of earthy minerality, leading to a smooth, lingering finish. This Merlot exemplifies the approachable yet nuanced style characteristic of California's Central Coast, offering both immediate appeal and potential for short-term cellaring.
