Stinson Vineyards Tannat

Stinson Vineyards Tannat is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with deep fruit flavors and earthy undertones. Some find it smooth and well-balanced with a silky finish, while others note its robust tannins that can overpower the fruit. Common descriptors include spicy undertones, oak, and a hint of flint. It pairs well with hearty meats, though patience is needed for it to fully develop.

This robust Tannat presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its concentrated nature. The nose is a complex tapestry of blackcurrant, ripe plum, and earthy undertones, interwoven with hints of forest floor and cedar, suggesting well-judged oak integration. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure with firm, yet polished tannins, providing a backbone to the wine's rich, dark fruit core. The acidity is vibrant, ensuring balance and a long, lingering finish accented by notes of dark chocolate and a whisper of graphite. This Tannat stands as a testament to Virginia's potential for crafting age-worthy reds.
