Soutiran Signature Brut Champagne Grand Cru 'Ambonnay' NV

Volant

Decadent and creamy Champagne with a solid foundation, PN (60%) meets Chard (40%) in a well blended blend. 60 months on the lees have added intricacy and depth, with nuances of brioche, yeast, and buttery popcorn. The texture is gentle and refined, with delicate whispers of honey and dried fruit, bringing apricot and baked apples. The follow through is dry and satisfying, with a full bodied and mousseux texture. A well-balanced and interesting Champagne, with a solid nose and a fresh, lively palate.

Hidekazu

Highly regarded NV discovery from Colruyt, boasting a Grand Cru level profile with a yeasty and creamy mineral nose, fine bubbles, and a decadent full-bodied texture. The Pinot-dominated vinous mouth is both focused and complex, making it an excellent quality for the price. while three out of four bottles were exceptional, one was slightly tired and lactic, suggesting it may not age as well as others in its price range. Still, it's a significant improvement over many larger-name brands, delivering a substantial 30% more value.
