Ramey Syrah 2017

Truly outstanding wine that has expanded my knowledge of the wines Ramey produces. A stonking addition to any wine collection.

This Syrah is a masterclass in cohesion and refinement, with a concentrated and complex nose that seamlessly blends black fruit, savory teriyaki, and mild herbal notes. The sensation is full-bodied and generously supported by a consistent interplay of fruit, pepper, and spice, all of which are expertly integrated to create a gentle and mellow texture. The tannins are well-handled, adding layers and structure to the all around experience, while the conclusion is long and satisfying, leaving a staying impression.

Rich, full-bodied wine with a complex olfactory profile featuring plum, cherry, and blackberry notes, highlighted by a wisp of spice and a touch of tartness. The flavor is described by a smooth, smooth tactile quality and a rich, deep purple hue. As the wine ages, its tones unfold with a elegant nuance, revealing a mix of plum, rich fruit, and a trace of tannic undertones. To fully appreciate its depth, it's best to allow it to breathe for a half hour, which will allow the flavors to integrate and the tannins to soften. but it may not be as balanced as the 2010 vintage, this wine is still a fantastic offering and a testament to the skill of the winemaker. It's a wine that will reward patience and careful consideration, and is sure to please even the most discerning palates. Cheers!
