The 2020 Poggio del Moro Nu Chianti presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its robust character. On the nose, it unveils a symphony of ripe red cherries and plums, intertwined with hints of dried herbs and a subtle earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied, showcasing a harmonious balance between vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins, which provide a structured backbone. Flavors of juicy red fruit are complemented by a whisper of spice and a mineral undertone, leading to a persistent, elegant finish. This Chianti exemplifies the classic Sangiovese profile with modern finesse, ideal for immediate enjoyment or short-term cellaring.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit character, followed by aging in large oak barrels to add subtle complexity. This Chianti offers a balanced expression of red fruit flavors, supported by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. It is designed to be enjoyed young, showcasing the bright and lively nature typical of the region's classic style.
