Platinetti Guido Vespolina is appreciated for its concentrated fruit flavors and earthy undertones, with some noting sun-dried tomatoes and herbs. While some find it intense and rustic, others describe it as straightforward and uncomplicated. It has noticeable tannins and a dry, austere finish, pairing well with cheeses and cold cuts.
This Vespolina presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its vibrant character. The bouquet unfolds with layers of wild red berries, intertwined with subtle hints of dried herbs and a whisper of white pepper. On the palate, the wine reveals a medium-bodied structure, supported by finely grained tannins and a lively acidity that enhances its freshness. The interplay of ripe cherry and earthy undertones leads to a lingering finish, marked by a delicate minerality. This wine exemplifies the quintessential elegance of Vespolina, offering a compelling expression of its Piedmontese roots.
