Planeta's Chardonnay is a large and well-respected producer that leans heavily towards commercial appeal. This wine is one of the international varieties used to highlight Sicily's presence. Ripe, fruity, aged in oak, it is a drinkable wine that lacks refinement. Ripe peaches, citrus, flowers, vanilla, and a round, smooth character characterize this wine, but its lack of elegance makes it unremarkable. Overall, it is a decent, but unremarkable, wine that fails to impress.
Suryan
Distinguished selection from Lusardiçs in NYC, this Sicilian wine is a masterclass in cohesion and integration. The medium straw appearance is a testament to its well-crafted character. The nose is a symphony of tropical accents and caramel, with undertones of banana, apricot, and butterscotch that linger pleasantly. The sensation is a cohesive blend of these flavors, with a silky and round consistency that wraps the palate. The oak aging has done its magic, adding richness and finesse to the wine. A true gem, and a must-drink for those who appreciate a well-crafted Italian wine.

Planeta Chardonnay is praised for its rich, full-bodied character, with notes of tropical fruits, oak, and vanilla. Many appreciate its smooth, creamy texture and balanced acidity. While some find it sophisticated and well-crafted, others feel it lacks complexity and refinement. The wine's versatility makes it suitable for various pairings, though its price is occasionally questioned. Overall, it offers a satisfying experience with a touch of Sicilian flair.
This Planeta Chardonnay is a truly exquisite wine. The mid-gold color hints at the opulence that is to come. The nose is forward, with bold notes of pineapple and peach. The palate is broad, rich, and layered leading to a satisfying finish. Well suited to enthusiasts of opulent Chardonnay seeking a touch of European elegance. Serve with whole turbot or creamy pasta dishes.
