When I ponder the wine's ten-year maturation, I ponder whether it has aged well. I'm fond of Peay Vineyards, and the Les Titans Syrah 2004 is a mixed bag. The nose reveals a intricate bouquet: black currant, plum skins, menthol, lavender, and cola. The tongue is similarly multifaceted, with bright red fruit and a tart, astringent finish. The only drawback is the tannins, which are somewhat unbalanced, detracting from the overall experience. I award it 3.5 stars, reflecting its mixed qualities.
