What the web is saying

Muga Selección Especial (Reserva) is praised for its rich blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo, aged in oak for 26 months. It features complex flavors of dark fruits, vanilla, and oak, with a smooth, full-bodied texture. While many appreciate its depth and balance, some find it requires aging to fully develop its potential. A versatile wine, it pairs well with hearty dishes.

Voss Experts4.8

Muga Selección Especial (Reserva) is a deep ruby-colored Rioja with aromas of ripe red fruit and hints of oak, spice, and leather. On the palate it is medium-bodied with a soft, velvety texture. It is packed with flavors of blackberry, cherry, and plum, with a touch of earthiness and hints of cedar, forest floor, and vanilla. The finish is long and lingering, with a pleasant balance of tannin and acidity. The overall impression is one of finesse and elegance.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
