The 2020 Monvigliero presents a captivating garnet hue, indicative of its Nebbiolo heritage. On the nose, it unfurls a bouquet of dried rose petals, red currant, and a hint of anise, underscored by subtle earthy nuances. The palate is a masterclass in balance, showcasing fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity that frame flavors of ripe cherry, licorice, and a whisper of truffle. The finish is long and elegant, with a mineral edge that speaks to its terroir. This wine exemplifies the finesse and complexity expected from Barolo's esteemed Monvigliero cru, promising graceful aging potential.

Monvigliero is a renowned Barolo vineyard located in the Verduno commune of Italy's Piedmont region. Known for its unique microclimate and calcareous clay soils, it produces Nebbiolo grapes that yield wines with a distinct elegance and complexity. The vineyard's elevated position allows for optimal sun exposure, enhancing the ripening process. Fermentation typically occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in large oak casks to preserve the wine's delicate aromatics and structure. Monvigliero Barolo is celebrated for its refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and potential for long-term aging, appealing to enthusiasts of traditional Barolo styles.
