This Portuguese red reveals a deep garnet hue, inviting exploration of its intricate bouquet. Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry are interwoven with hints of dried herbs and a subtle mineral edge, reflecting the terroir's influence. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with velvety tannins providing a robust framework. Flavors of plum and blackberry are complemented by a touch of spice and a whisper of earthiness, leading to a long, harmonious finish. This Tinto is a testament to the region's ability to produce wines of both power and finesse, ideal for pairing with rich, hearty dishes.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Monte das Promessas Tinto is crafted from a blend of indigenous Portuguese grape varieties, grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of Alentejo. The region's warm Mediterranean climate, tempered by Atlantic breezes, allows for optimal ripening conditions. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh fruit character, followed by a brief maturation in French oak barrels to add subtle complexity. This medium-bodied red offers a balanced profile with notes of ripe red berries, a hint of spice, and a smooth finish, making it an approachable choice for everyday enjoyment.
