I was underwhelmed by this 2018. though I enjoyed the previous vintages, this bottle fell short of expectations. It lacked the richness and intricacy that made the others stand out. In fact, it was somewhat uneven.

Balanced and elegant wine encounter awaits. Its polished and silky smoothness is precisely balanced, with a gentle sweetness that complements the full bodied layers of vanilla, oak, and berries. A delightful and comforting sip, with each successive taste unfolding with ease and refinement.

Michele Satta Piastraia Bolgheri Superiore is praised for its rich, full-bodied character with notes of blackberry, oak, and vanilla. While some find it balanced and elegant, others feel it lacks complexity. The wine's tannins are often noted as strong yet smooth, making it a versatile pairing for rich dishes. Opinions vary on its aging potential, with some vintages needing time to fully develop.
This Michele Satta Piastraia Bolgheri Superiore is a stunning expression of the Bolgheri region. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe dark fruits, wild herbs, and a hint of wood spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a creamy texture and well-integrated tannins. It has a long and persistent finish, showing plenty of depth and complexity. Overall, this is a superb example of a top-quality Bolgheri Superiore.
