Michel Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 2022

2014

Chantil

Pinot noir with a good stability of tannins, showcasing a fruit-forward yet light and playful character.

2018

Soulet

Deep and evolving wine with a nose that oscillates between sweet and candied cherry notes, gradually giving way to earthy accents over time. The fruit profiles are well-balanced, with good freshness and structure, and a linger that is both minerally and slightly short. The wine benefits from decanting and time, and its benefits are expected to be further pronounced in the coming years. It is recommended to drink it young, but it will undoubtedly broaden in character and sophistication over time. The optimal exploring window is currently between 2020 and 2022, and it is suggested to hold onto it for a couple of years to allow it to mature further.

2016

Yung-Fung

Bold and rich wine with a youthful, deep fruit character, highlighted by the gentle sweetness of black raspberry and the floral suggestions of roses and violets. The fruit is polished by the earthy traces of black cherry and the nuanced suggestion of cassis, in contrast the tannins provide a polished and soft texture. The tanginess is well-balanced, and the altogether composition is medium plus, with a medium plus intensity and a medium plus bodied finish. The wine is of good quality and is appropriate for aging, thanks to the presence of tannins and acidity. It is recommended to drink it now, with a potential 5-8 year aging potential. The wine is a excellent bargain for its quality and potential for aging.
