Marco Felluga Russiz Superiore Cabernet Franc Collio 2023

Rare gem from Italy, this young Cabernet Franc is a perfect pairing for Italian cuisine, notably with substantial dishes like steak. Its deep, robust color and earthy, fruity aroma evoke a sense of warmth and comfort. The wine's dry, full-bodied tactile quality and vibrant flavor profile, featuring hints of black fruit and pepper, make it a fabulous match for bold flavors. The wine's polished structure and intensity, combined with its decent length, result in a very delightful indulging experience. A mind-blowing quality for its rarity and quality.

Masterful expression of Cab Franc from Collio, offering the region's exceptional capabilities. Paired with tender crock pot beef brisket, fluffy potatoes, and sweet carrots, this seamless combination is a true delight.

Aged in small oak barrels, this wine unveils the unique terroir of the Russiz Superiore vineyards in Capriva del Friuli, with its rich, dark ruby red colour and garnet reflexes. The fruit-forward flavours of juicy red cherries, blackberries, and black currants are highlighted by suggestions of earthy tones and pepper, in contrast the tannins and crispness provide a refreshing balance. The conclusion is long and satisfying, with a gentle minerality that adds dimension to the all around experience. A promising young wine that requires patience to reach its full potential. Aged for 12 months, it will continue to evolve and mature over the next three years. A stellar quality for those willing to wait.
