Second visit to Enoteca Tognoni in Bolgheri proved to be a highlight of my journey. The tasting bar and retailer is a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts. I was particularly impressed by the Messorio, a 100% Merlot that expresses the region's signature style. The 99-point score from RP is a testament to the wine's amazing quality. The Messorio is a flagship wine that would pair well with a wide range of dishes, and its ageability makes it a mind-blowing top pick for those looking to invest in a high-quality bottle.

Full bodied and velvety Merlot with a deep, inky color, featuring plum, inky cherry, and dense chocolate notes, even by vanilla and balsamic undertones. The palate is full-bodied and intense, with supple tannins and silky acidity, making it a well-structured wine with a long, elegant finish.

Voluptuous and full-bodied Merlot with a Pomerol style that requires patience to fully appreciate its nuances, but the initial impressions are nothing short of exceptional, with a beautifully integrated blend of rich fruits, berries, and elegant touches of coffee and chocolate.
