Layer Cake Primitivo (a.k.a. Zinfandel) NV

Primitivios are my favorite, but this one was tad too sweet and lacked flavor; a return to a more well integrated approach would be a welcome change.

The nose is powered by by deep and rich aromas of chocolate, mocha, and sweet fruit, in contrast the texture reveals a seamless harmony of flavors, containing plum, blackberry, and cherry. The trail is sharp and snappy, with a lingering aftertaste that is both alluring and unfulfilling. Overall, this wine is a superb deal for its price, displaying a unique and captivating savoring experience.
