La Poderina Poggio Abate Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is praised for its elegant and complex profile, with notes of cherry, vanilla, and earthy undertones. Some find it rich and full-bodied with a smooth finish, while others note harsh tannins and a one-dimensional character. It pairs well with Italian cuisine and is appreciated for its aging potential, though opinions vary on its depth and structure.
This Brunello di Montalcino Riserva presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its extended maturation. The bouquet unfolds with a symphony of black cherry, dried rose petals, and hints of anise, underscored by a subtle earthiness. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure, with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that frames the core of ripe plum and dark chocolate. The finish is long and resonant, with whispers of cedar and a mineral edge, showcasing the wine's impeccable balance and aging potential. A quintessential expression of Montalcino's terroir, poised for further evolution.
