I thoroughly enjoyed this local white, which boasted a vibrant crispness and a delightful stability of apple and lemon flavors.

The bouquet attempts to engage the dense whites of the Rhone, but falls short. Stone fruits, consisting of peach, nectarine, and quince, are present, as are greens, sorrel, and cotton candy. The impression is rounded, with a mellow zest and a lack of substantial body. The accents include quince, wax, nectarine, and white pepper, which return.

What the web is saying

Kavaklıdere Angora Beyaz is a Turkish white wine with mixed reviews. Many appreciate its vibrant crispness, citrus, and apple flavors, and its clean, easy-drinking nature. While some find it lacks complexity and body, others enjoy its dry, zesty finish and mineral notes. The wine is often compared to unoaked Chardonnay and is considered a good value for everyday consumption.

Voss Experts4.3

This Turkish white wine presents a pale straw hue, indicative of its youthful vibrancy. The nose is an inviting bouquet of white peach, green apple, and subtle honeysuckle, underscored by a whisper of minerality. On the palate, it showcases a crisp, medium-bodied structure with a refreshing acidity that enlivens the fruit-forward profile. Notes of citrus zest and a hint of almond add complexity, leading to a clean, lingering finish. Kavaklıdere Angora Beyaz exemplifies the potential of Turkish viticulture, offering an approachable yet sophisticated expression ideal for pairing with light Mediterranean fare.
