Geolette
A sumptuous Riesling from a renowned Mosel producer, boasting impressive body and complexity. The wine's rich, decadent structure is flawlessly well integrated by its nuanced fruitiness, with apricot and peach suggestions adding a sweet and inviting dimension. The linger is long and satisfying, with a subtle whisper of botrytis adding a touch of minerality. A truly top notch vintage.
Prima
The cork's disintegration made pouring a challenge, and despite straining, there were still visible fragments of the wine. A week later, we revisited the 2001, and in contrast it still showed promise, it lacked the refinement of its predecessor. The nose was pleasant, with a whisper of effervescence, but the finale was somewhat lacking. The 2001's layers of fruit and minerals were still present, but the in total experience was less refined.

Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is praised for its rich, complex flavors of peach, apricot, and honey, with a harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity. Some vintages show hints of petrol and minerality, adding depth. While many enjoy its long, satisfying finish, a few find certain vintages lacking in intensity or refinement. Overall, it's a well-regarded wine with aging potential.
Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is a highly regarded wine from the Mosel region in Germany. This wine is made from the Riesling grape variety, which is known for producing exceptional quality wines with a unique balance of acidity and sweetness. On the nose, this Riesling Spätlese offers enticing aromas of ripe peach, apricot, and citrus fruits. There are also delicate floral notes, such as honeysuckle and jasmine, adding to its aromatic complexity. The palate is where this wine truly shines. It displays a perfect harmony between its vibrant acidity and luscious sweetness. The flavors of stone fruits, particularly peach and apricot, are beautifully complemented by zesty citrus notes. There is also a subtle mineral character that adds depth and complexity to the wine. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a refreshing sensation on the palate. The sweetness of this Spätlese is well-balanced, making it a versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with spicy Asian cuisine, seafood, and soft cheeses.
