Vimal
A second encounter with this Alvarinho from João Portugal Ramos, a agreeable journey that I find satisfactory. I compare it back to back with the 2019, and my accents are remarkably consistent.\n\nThe nose is characterized by floral undertones with grapefruit, anise, linden, lychee, and lemon, followed by a similar profile on the palate, with the same beautiful Alvarinho acidity. 3.7.
Dolceo
Lively and zesty wine with a soft evenness of citrus and stone fruit flavors, featuring flavors of green apple, pear, and white peach. The brightness is well-balanced, and the follow through is supple and satisfying. Overall, a well-crafted wine with a high quality profile.

Joao Portugal Ramos Alvarinho is praised for its floral and citrus notes, with grapefruit, anise, and lemon aromas. While some appreciate the lively, zesty character with green apple and pear flavors, others highlight its consistent acidity. The wine is seen as well-balanced and satisfying, though opinions on vintages vary slightly.
A luminous pale straw hue introduces this Alvarinho, immediately suggesting freshness and vibrancy. The nose is a sophisticated interplay of white peach, lime zest, and delicate floral notes, underscored by a subtle minerality. On the palate, it reveals a precise structure, with a lively acidity that is beautifully balanced by a creamy texture, reminiscent of ripe melon and green apple. The finish is long and clean, with a whisper of saline and a hint of almond skin, marking it as a quintessential expression of the varietal and a benchmark for Vinho Verde's potential.
